Irving Youth Theatre Volunteer Opportunities

🎭 Show-Based Volunteer Roles

These are hands-on opportunities connected to each production. Volunteers can commit for one show at a time or on an ongoing basis.

Front of House

• Ushers & Greeters – welcome guests, hand out programs, assist with seating
• Concessions – sell snacks/drinks before & after the show and at intermission
• Box Office Support – help with ticket sales and check-in

Backstage & Production

• Set Construction & Painting – help build and paint sets; no prior experience needed
• Costumes & Props – assist with sewing, gathering, and maintaining costumes/props
• Stage Crew – move sets, manage scene changes, and support cast/crew backstage
• Technical Support – operate lights, sound, projections, or spotlights (training available)

Rehearsal & Cast Support

• Rehearsal Assistants – supervise students, track attendance, and help directors
• Photography & Videography – capture rehearsal moments, headshots, and production stills
• Hospitality & Meals – provide snacks or meals during tech week and long rehearsals

🏛 Volunteer Working Board Roles

These are leadership-level opportunities for adults interested in shaping and sustaining the non-profit theatre. Board members follow adopted bylaws, meet regularly, and help drive the mission forward.

Governance & Leadership

• Board Chair / Vice Chair – lead meetings, oversee committees, ensure mission alignment
• Secretary – maintain records, minutes, and compliance documentation
• Treasurer – oversee budgets, financial reports, and nonprofit compliance

Committees & Strategic Roles

• Fundraising & Development – secure sponsorships, grants, and individual donations
• Marketing & Community Outreach – promote shows, manage social media, build partnerships
• Volunteer Coordination – recruit, organize, and support volunteers for productions
• Education & Programming – assist in developing workshops, camps, and new initiatives
• Facilities & Production Support – coordinate rehearsal and performance space needs
