About Irving Youth Theatre

Irving Youth Theatre (IYT) was founded in 2023 by veteran educators Michael and Dr. Lisa Hill with a simple vision: to create a place where every young person can experience the joy, confidence, and life-changing impact of musical theatre. What began as a small community program has quickly grown into one of the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s emerging youth theatre organizations, providing high-quality productions, educational opportunities, and meaningful experiences for children and teens.

Since its founding, IYT has welcomed students from across the Metroplex to participate both onstage and behind the scenes. From first-time performers discovering their confidence to experienced young actors refining their craft, every participant is encouraged to learn, grow, collaborate, and shine in a supportive and inclusive environment.

At Irving Youth Theatre, we believe theatre is about far more than putting on a show. Every rehearsal teaches teamwork, responsibility, creativity, empathy, communication, and perseverance. Students build lasting friendships while developing skills that will benefit them throughout their lives, regardless of where their future takes them.

As a nonprofit organization, IYT is committed to making theatre accessible to every child, regardless of financial circumstances. Through scholarships, community partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and generous supporters, we work to ensure that cost is never the reason a young person misses the opportunity to experience the magic of the performing arts.

As we continue to grow, our vision extends beyond the stage. We are expanding educational programming, developing original works, strengthening community partnerships, and creating opportunities for young artists to discover their potential through every aspect of theatre.

Our mission is simple: inspiring confidence, creativity, and connection through theatre—because we believe every child deserves a standing ovation.
