At Irving Youth Theatre, we believe every role matters.

Our camps combine professional structure with heart, creativity, and community โ€” empowering young voices through the performing arts. Whether students are joining our Frozen Musical Theatre Camp (featuring performances of Frozen KIDS and Frozen JR) or auditioning for our Madagascar JR โ€œSummer on the Stageโ€ Production Camp, participants experience the excitement of rehearsing, creating, and performing on a professional stage at the Irving Arts Center.

Spots are limited โ€” join us for two weeks of snow, sparkle, and stage magic with Frozen, or take the stage in our high-energy Madagascar production experience!
Tuition must be paid in full by the Parent Meeting on May 30.

Quick Overview

June 1-12 – Frozen Kids or Junior Summer Camp (M-F) for kids completing Kinder – 8th grade

June 15-18 – Frozen Performances at the Irving Arts Center

June 22-25 – Madagascar Summer On The Stage Production Camp for kids completing 3rd – 9th grade. Final performance on June 25th in the evening.

FROZEN Summer Musical Theatre Camp ๐ŸŽญ

One Camp. Two Shows. Two Incredible Weeks.

Are you ready to let it go during TWO WEEKS of exciting, high-energy Broadway fun?

Join Irving Youth Theatre for two weeks of full-day immersive musical theatre experience inspired by Disneyโ€™s Frozen! This fast-paced camp is perfect for students who want a true taste of Broadway โ€” whether theyโ€™re seasoned performers or stepping on stage for the first time.

Students may:

  • ๐ŸŽญ Enroll as an ensemble performer (CAMPER)
  • ๐ŸŒŸ Submit a video audition for a LEAD (named) role – Click here for AUDITION information (deadline is April 24th)

๐ŸŽถ What Makes This Camp Special?

This isnโ€™t just a sing-along โ€” itโ€™s a full production experience.

Each day (9 AMโ€“4 PM) includes:

โœจ Acting & Rehearsal
Students rehearse the scenes and songs from Frozen Kids or Frozen Jr.

๐ŸŽจ Creative Rotations
Art, Music, and Dance workshops led by specialty coaches

๐Ÿ’ƒ Choreography & Vocal Training
Using official Broadway Jr. musical theatre materials

๐ŸŽญ Production Elements
Students help create props and set pieces that will be used in the final performances!

Campers rotate through enrichment sessions while building toward a complete, polished, Broadway-style production.


๐ŸŽค Final Performances

The two-week camp culminates in an exciting production of Frozen Kids or Frozen Jr. at the Irving Arts Center โ€“ Carpenter Hall!

Family and friends and the community are invited to experience the magic as students take the stage in a joyful, professional theatre setting.

Performance Schedule:

  • โ„๏ธ Frozen Kids
    Stage Rehearsal: Monday evening (5-9 PM), June 15
    Performance: Tuesday, June 16 @ 7 PM (Call will be 6 PM)
  • โ„๏ธ Frozen Jr.
    Stage Rehearsal: Wednesday evening (5-9 PM), June 17
    Performance: Thursday, June 18 @ 7 PM (Call will be 6 PM)

๐ŸŽต Who Should Enroll?

Students completing Kindergarten through 8th Grade (25-26 school year)

Students will be assigned to the Kids or Junior production based on grade level and/or audition (if applicable).

โœ” All skill levels welcome
โœ” Singing and dancing are required

High School students who would like to serve as Camp Counselors should enroll through Jumbula. IYT Directors are happy to sign any Community Service forms. At least six (6) counselors are needed for Frozen camp.


๐ŸŒŸ Lead Auditions (Optional)

Children who wish to be in the ENSEMBLE will not need to audition or attend extra rehearsals – they will be Frozen CAMPERS. They will still be part of the show!

Video auditions for LEADS (named characters) must be submitted by:

All enrolled families โ€” Leads and Campers โ€” must attend.

Students must be available for May rehearsals and June 15โ€“18 performances to be eligible for a lead role.

Parents will help with Set Builds on designated Saturdays and will be required to help with other production aspects.

We focus on the three most important tools in an actorโ€™s toolbox:

Imagination. Movement. Voice.

Students will:

  • Build confidence on stage
  • Learn Broadway basics of acting, singing, and dancing
  • Work collaboratively in age-based groups
  • Experience what itโ€™s like to be part of a real musical production

Whether your child already loves the spotlight or is ready to try something new, this camp provides a supportive, joyful, high-energy environment to shine on the stage.

Camp Fee: $450
Sibling Discount: $400

A Limited Number of Scholarships are available. We never want the cost to prevent a child from shining on stage.

Registration Includes:

  • Frozen rehearsals (Kids or Junior version of the show)
  • Two full weeks of camp
  • Art, Music & Dance rotations
  • Morning & afternoon snacks
  • Production fee (performance rights + Irving Arts Center venue)
  • Show Shirt and Frozen Lunch Bag

Please note: Students may be required to provide their own costumes or pay a rental fee.

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Early/Late Care: (Pre-registration is the best option, if needed)
    • 8โ€“9 AM and/or 4โ€“5 PM
      $100 per option – will be available in the JUMBULA Registration – Example: All 10 days of camp Early Hour is $100. All 10 days of camp Late Hour is $100. The total for adding Early and Late Hour for all 10 days of camp is $200. ($25 per hour per day if not pre-registered/paid in advance)
    • If a student arrives more than 10 minutes early or is picked up more than 10 minutes late, parents will pay the extra hour fee of $25 for each occurrence.
  • Show Poster: $5

โ“ FAQs

What should my child wear?
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes they can move in.
(No Crocs or sandals.)

What should my child bring?

  • Water bottle (no glass; must seal tightly)
  • Sack lunch (no refrigeration, no heating)
  • Children may not share lunches and parents should not drop-off lunch

What should my child NOT bring?

  • Toys or Valuables
  • Negative attitude, hurtful or inappropriate language

Does my child have to audition?
Only if they want a LEAD role.
All registered campers will be cast in either Frozen Kids or Frozen Jr.

What if my child cannot perform during the week of June 15โ€“18?
They can still attend camp and have a fantastic experience. However, they will not be eligible for a lead role.

๐ŸŽญ Madagascarโ€“ A Musical Adventure JR.

Summer On the Stage Production Camp

Get ready to โ€œMove It, Move It!โ€ this summer with Madagascar, Jr. โ€” a full-scale production camp where students donโ€™t just performโ€ฆ they learn what it takes to bring a Broadway-style show to life!

This unique On the Stage Production Camp gives students the opportunity to experience both performance and technical theatre. Campers will sing, dance, act โ€” and gain insight into the behind-the-scenes magic that makes a production happen.


๐ŸŽฌ Who Can Audition?

Students completing 3rdโ€“9th Grade

This is a production-based camp, and students will audition to participate.
We are looking for performers who are excited about both:

  • ๐ŸŽค Performing on stage
  • ๐ŸŽจ Exploring the technical aspects of theatre

High Schoolย students who would like to serve asย Camp Counselorsย should discuss with IYT Directors (director@irvingyouththeatre.com) prior to enrolling in Madagascar camp. Limited spaces available! IYT Directors are happy to sign any Community Service forms.
